No to Sports Cars or SUVs for your Teen
Filed under Safety TipsMay 15Are you planning to buy your young teen a new car? I suggest that you don’t buy them an SUV or a sports car. Why? Simply because these cars require a higher insurance than any other normal cars. Sports cars usually have a higher top speed compared to the other vehicles that’s why our teens are tempted to drive real fast, which can cause awful and tragic car accidents. The SUVs are also much heavier compared to other cars. It is also hard to control most of the time and lastly, SUVs tend to do more damage when they meet an accident with smaller cars.

Teen Drivers
Filed under GuideMay 3Do you remember the first time you learned how to drive a car? If yes, then you can testify to the feeling new drivers usually have. Most of them are very eager in the first few years that they tend to drive too fast to know their limits and feel the adrenaline rush.
According to statistics presented by various car insurance companies, majority of the insurers who met an accident on the road are the teens. Because of this, it will cause them to pay higher insurance rates. A teen’s parent can include them in their present insurance, but expect the premiums to increase a thousand dollars a year. There’s no way you can stop this, but you can possibly lessen this.Comments Off -

Car insurances for students are different from one another. However, the basic parts of the insurance plan normally cover the same categories. The comprehensive coverage protects you when your car or something inside is stolen or when the damage is caused by the weather. Collision coverage will pay you if you meet any type of accident involving another car. In case you caused a body injury to another person, your bodily injury will cover for you. On the other hand, the medical cost and lost wages of the insured and any injured passengers will be covered through Personal Injury Protection or PIP.

Crime Threats During Winter
Statistics show that there is always an increase in accidents poll during winter. Actually danger is not limited to accidents but to crimes as well. There have been reports of car stealing also during winter. This happens to unattended vehicles while the driver is warming up the engine. Unfortunately, many car insurance companies are not to be sympathetic about this matter. They would reason out that the driver failed to his responsibilities as to caring of the vehicle. The driver should never leave the car key to the ignition as this is likely an invitation to car thieves. Another thing is that you will most likely fail to claim insurance just because of poor defrosted windscreen. Insurance companies will contest that it is the driver’s responsibility to drive with 100 percent visibility.

Using Credit Card
Filed under General Facts, TipsApr 8
When you charge your Gold or Platinum credit card for your car rental, most likely, your credit card company will give your collision insurance free of charge as this is the normal case among credit card companies. However, the coverage may no longer be great. In most cases, credit card companies do not give protection anymore to those who travel overseas or they just maximize the protection to cheaper cars. And adding insult to injury, a deposit will be required on your credit card equivalent to the replacement cost of the car. This is no longer convenient especially if your credit limit is not enough to cover the value of the car.

Time plays a big part.
Even with all these new preventive measures, accidents are still happening. This is why the focus has turned to on which days and at what time accidents are occurring. According to the NHTSA, Saturday and Sundays nights between Midnight and 3 a.m. are the deadliest 3-hours on the road, with a total of 2,451 fatal crashes in 2004, seventy-six percent of these accidents involved alcohol. So you now know what time of day to try and avoid, but do you know that time of year? The Early Edition Report indicates that August topped the charts with the most fatal crashes in one month and December had the most overall automobile accidents, totaling 601,000- something to keep in mind during your vacation and holiday travels!
Your car can affect your car accident.
The vehicle you drive can also play a large role in your car accident. Passenger cars and light trucks accounted for nearly 95 percent of the 11 million vehicles involved in motor vehicle crashes in 2004. Large trucks only accounted for 15 percent of the vehicle accidents. In addition, we saw an increase in vehicles rolling over during an accident. Of the vehicles that rolled over, utility vehicles presented the highest rate at 36.2 percent in fatal crashes, 9.6 percent in injury crashes and 2.4 in property-damage-only-crashes. Regardless of the crash severity, the majority of these accidents occurred during daylight, in normal weather conditions, while the vehicle was going straight.Comments Off -
Some child safety reminder for you.
Filed under Safety TipsMar 3by: Christine Zafra
Mishaps can happen anytime and to anyone—no one is exempted to this rule. If you have a kid with you most of the time, perhaps your kid requesting some joy ride from “mommy” or “daddy”, then might as well install some child safety measures.
A lot of children die from car accidents because of faulty installations. Yes, that’s true according to the NHTSA or the National Highway Traffic System Administration. One way you can reduce the probability of your child getting a serious injury or die in an accident is to install child safety mirrors. Yes, the mirrors are the ones that reflect back the image of the child to your own rear view mirror. You can easily see them and vice versa,
