  When you rent a car, the first thing that you will be asked is if you want a coverage or not. This is with regards to supplemental insurance that will protect you from damage, liability and theft. However, this will incur additional cost. Many customers tend to agree on this knowing that they are gaining out of it. Unfortunately, it is just a misconception and for many people, this coverage is actually unnecessary provided you have sufficient primary car insurance or you are paying with a major credit card. If you have comprehensive and collision coverage from a primary insurance provider, you only need to pay your deductibles in case of an accident. And many major credit card companies cover comprehensive damages.
