Role of the Motor Insurance Database
Filed under General FactsJul 12Once you have your car insured, make sure that your insurance provider will enlist your insurance policy details to the Motor Insurance Database or MID. Being insured is equally important as being listed in the MID because policemen use the listed data from the Motor Insurance Database as reference in preventing uninsured driving. Chances are, the police may stop you if the details of your insurance policy are not yet entered on the Motor Insurance Database. Or worst, your car may be sequestered. On your part as a private individual check that your insurance provider does the job and as for company vehicles, the policy holder should take the responsibility of ensuring that the details are provided for the Motor Insurance Database.
